• Food & Drink: For a classic mountain evening, La Table Savoyarde on Route du Linga serves fondue, raclette and other Savoyard specialities in a cosy wood-panelled setting. The valley is the home of Abondance AOP cheese, and you can watch it being made at the traditional fruitiere (cheese dairy) in nearby La Chapelle d'Abondance. The village centre, about 800m away, has bakeries, grocers and bars for stocking the kitchenette or grabbing an after-ski drink.
• Outdoor Activities: The Portes du Soleil ski area links 650km of pistes across 12 French and Swiss resorts, with the nearest chairlift roughly 500m from the door. Thrill-seekers can ride the Fantasticable zipline over the hamlet of Plaine-Dranse at speeds approaching 100km/h. In summer the Pre-la-Joux bike park and the hiking trails toward Mont de Grange (2,432m) take over the same slopes.
• Places to Visit: La Vieille Douane, the Old Customs House museum in Chatel, tells the story of centuries of smuggling across the Franco-Swiss border. The 12th-century Abbey of Abondance, around 9km away, is worth the trip for its frescoed cloister. For a change of scenery, Evian and the shores of Lake Geneva lie about 40km off, with lakeside walks and boat trips.

Fees Upon Arrival

• A refundable security deposit of €250 per accommodation is required and will be returned after inspection, provided there is no damage, additional cleaning or missing items.
• In compliance with local regulations, a daily tourist tax may be applicable during your stay. The rate is subject to change. For precise information based on your dates of stay, please consult the local municipality.
