Spotlight On: Sutton Place Hotel, Revelstoke

A modern alpine oasis in an incredible ski-in/ski-out location, the Sutton Place Hotel is an ideal option for your mountain vacation!

This is where big mountain thrills meets sumptuous comfort. Imagine blasting through pristine powder as you carve up the slopes at Revelstoke Mountain Resort or taking in sweeping views of the jagged landscape during a gondola ride.
And after your adventure, you head back to your hotel to unwind in plush accommodations inspired by the alpine landscape. This is just a taste of what you’ll find at the Sutton Place Hotel at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
It’s the little details that make this luxurious mountain escape really stand out. The condominium-style Sutton Place Hotel, located at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, offers ski-in/ski-out luxury with an elegant-yet-understated style.
Opened in 2009, this resort-hotel was designed as the perfect luxurious counterpart to its equally stunning settings. The large fireplaces and plush king-size beds in each room are as warm and cosy as the Canadian mountains are chilly and exhilarating.
After a long day spent skiing or exploring, these accommodations provide the perfect place to sip a glass of wine while soothing your muscles with a hot bubble bath in an oversized soaker tub.
This hotel makes a big impression even before you step inside. Designed by one of North America’s top resort architectural firms, the exterior captures the rugged elegance of the outdoors with a sleek, chalet-inspired style.
The sophisticated mountain ambience continues inside, with an airy lobby that’s modern and sophisticated while still maintaining a rustic flair. This space is smartly designed in neutral colours, with plenty of comfortable seating clustered around a cosy central fireplace.
Although the mountains offer a chance to disconnect from the world and enjoy tranquillity, you will also be able to stay in touch with others using the free high speed Internet access. A decadent spa and three enticing restaurants top the list of onsite perks that you’ll also find here.

ENTICING CUISINE & A REFINED SPA

You’ve spent hours skiing or exploring the outdoors – now’s it’s time to indulge a little.
If you don’t feel like cooking, the hotel has several choices for dining. Dive into delectable cuisine at Rockford Wok, Bar and Grill while soaking up the modern-yet-rustic décor. Generous dishes are served with a distinct West Coast flair, with menu items ranging from pan-roasted Salmon filet with spinach and basil and Chicken pesto quesadilla. Try the Rockslide for dessert, a scoop of vanilla bean gelato smothered in dark chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries.
For a refreshing evening drink, check out the Mackenzie Common Tavern. This warm and welcoming pub offers a great selection of micro-brew beer and classic draught on tap, as well as an array of signature cocktails. The friendly bartender is always happy to chat while mixing up your drink.
For a quick lunch during the day, La Baguette crafts palate-pleasing sandwiches, fresh-baked pastries, salads, wraps, specialty coffees and fruit smoothies.
But before getting dressed up for a fine meal, visit the Refinery Day Spa for an aromatherapy massage or other sumptuous treatment. If you’re worried about how well your skin will endure the outdoors, try The Elemental Nature Facial – it’s designed to combat the dryness and sensitivity that sometimes comes with a day spent hiking or skiing. The Refinery Day Spa also offers manicures, pedicures and massages.
Onsite bike and ski storage will keep your gear safe while secure underground parking makes travel a little easier. Wondering where else to explore? Just ask the hotel’s expert concierge for suggestions.
The Sutton Place Hotel is also pet friendly, so you can bring along your canine friend to enjoy the wilderness by your side.

SPECTACULAR SKIING IS JUST FOR STARTERS

In this natural playground, there are countless amazing moments to be enjoyed. Revelstoke is the gateway to seriously gorgeous mountain terrain.
The Revelstoke Mountain Resort has quickly developed a reputation for world-class skiing – it’s the only place in the world that offers cat, lift and heli-skiing from the same mountain base.
Enjoy ski-in/ski-out convenience and an incredible variety of well-groomed terrain. There are 3,121 acres of fall line skiing, including high alpine bowls and gladed terrain.
This is not a mountain for the faint of heart: the runs are exhilarating and challenging and the resort is home to the greatest vertical in North America at 1,713 metres. Also, free downhill tubing is available all winter for season pass holders and snowshoe tours are available daily from the top of the gondola.
The resort is only six years old, so the lifts are fast, the infrastructure is brand new and everything is in excellent working condition. The lift top elevation is 2,225 metres and there are 65 runs, with the longest stretching 15.2 km – that translates into about as much thrilling downhill action as anyone can handle.
But the fun at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort doesn’t stop when the snow melts. Glide effortlessly up the mountain while enjoying the view on a gondola tour. These scenic rides are available daily from the end of June till the beginning of September and you can also order a unique sightseeing/buffet breakfast special.
If you’d like to roam a little farther from the resort, the town of Revelstoke is about a 10-minute drive away. History buffs will love the Revelstoke Railway Museum, which contains a number of exhibits about the construction of the transcontinental Canadian Pacific Railway. Afterwards, take a stroll through the compact centre of town, which is lined with heritage buildings and has a vibrant local arts community.
Or you could spend your entire vacation right at the resort. The choice is yours.
