You’ll explore stunning sections of wilderness and be given a chance to spot wildlife that you might not get to see while on foot. The friendly, experienced guides will teach you a few cowboy tricks along the way.
You’ll pass by natural sulphur hot springs as you make your way to one of Banff’s national historic sites: the Cave and Basin. Trek along the tranquil Bow River and take in magnificent views of the Bow Valley before pressing through thick marshes as you climb Sulphur Mountain. You’ll then trot up to the Windy Knoll where you can take in the striking vista.

Bow Valley Loop Ride
This thrilling journey gets you up close and personal with the unique wildlife of Banff National Park. Explore the rustic terrain and grassy meadows of the Bow Valley. From snow-capped mountains and sparkling waterfalls to roaring rivers and thick alpine forests, this trip takes you from the bustling Banff townsite to the peaceful wilderness just a few miles away.
See the renowned Rimrock Resort Hotel, and then trek down to the valley and lead your horse across the lively Spray River. You’ll ride along the base of Mount Rundle – where you can get a bird’s eye view of both the towns of Banff and Canmore – before passing by the immaculate fairways of the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course. You’ll continue on to the roaring Bow Falls to cross the river a second time before heading back.

Cowboy for a Day
Meet your guide down at the stables, help saddle your horse and learn the art of diamond hitches and packing. This full day adventure will give you a glimpse of cowboy life in the mountains. This ride offers the greatest variety of scenery as it travels through the Spray River Valley. Along the ride you will capture panoramic views from Sulphur Mountain. Lunch is included and is prepared trailside. On the homeward trek, ride along the base of Mt. Rundle where you will experience unique views of the Spray River as you return to Banff.
